What’s Your Real Motivation?

Ask yourself these questions! Answer it! You shall find some happiness within you. Or purpose, maybe!
  • Who am I? How do I think of myself? What are my strengths and weaknesses?
  • Who do I want to be?
  • Why am I here? Why am I important? What is my mission?
  • What am I missing? The time to read a book? A close friendship?
  • What’s my motivation for wanting to improve my food and exercise habits? If it’s to look better, do I expect favorable results to bring love?
  • Am I afraid of making changes or of taking risks (quitting a boring job, getting out of a bad relationship)? Do I fear failure or the responsibility that could come with success? Could I embrace change instead as an adventure?
  • What has stopped me from keeping resolutions in the past? Is the obstacle (or obstacles) still present in my life? If so, how will I navigate it this time?
  • When I’m tempted to wander off track, what could I say to myself, or do, to stick with the original plan?
  • How can I build in support for myself? Ask a friend to be a health buddy? Join a walking club?
  • What am I doing in my life that’s hurting me? Smoking? Drinking too much? Letting work interfere with relationships?
  • What are the sources of joy I need to feel whole?
  • Am I happy?

Mercy;A bundle of JOY!

She is MERCY!

A puppy rescued by my sister. She was only 3 days old when she came to my house! Her eyes were closed too. Tiny little soul.
Took care of her for 3 mths. Very hyper & energetic! Bites if anyone disturbs her. I gave her for adoption few weeks ago.
I couldn’t keep her at home because we already have 2 awesome dogs at home.
Came across this picture that I took before giving her for adoption and thought of sharing it here! :)

Dogs are truly Mans Best Friend! :)

P/S: If you are against animal abuse,do sign this petition! Thanks a ton!

Deiva Thirumagal (in my point of view)

DEIVA THIRUMAGAL
First of all,YES,this movie is inspired by I AM SAM!
Before watching the movie, the only review I received was,'You are going to cry! Get yourself a pack of tissue!"
Well,I didn't get one and I still went for the movie. Overall,DEIVA THIRUMAGAL is a beautiful tale between a father & a daughter.
You will love your dad more!

THE PLUS POINTS
1. Call it inspiration or plagiarism,I would definitely say that Vikram deserves a standing ovation for such a brilliant performance.Hats off,Vikram!
2. Baby Nila:Cute, adorable & smart. This little girl will touch you in every single way and she will be the one who remains in your heart & mind.
The onscreen bond between this little girl and Vikram is magnificent. Read few FB statuses of my friends and many thought Baby Sarah is Vikram's own daughter.
Take note: Baby Sarah is NOT Vikram's daughter.
3. Anushka; As a lawyer,Anushka did her best. There is something in her. Whenever a role id given to her,she nailed it. Dear Directors,do give Anushka a ROLE! NOT an ordinary heroine role where she will be there for few scenes & songs! Plisss.
4. Santhanam; His sense of humor is at different level now. Go for him too! *tea kappi tea kappi*
5. Songs! Beautiful pieces & my pick of the album would be Aariro! Beautifully pictured too.

MINUSES
1. The Vizhigale song was beautiful but I thought it could have been better if they removed it from the movie. The reason is,it made no sense in the movie.
What happened to Anushka feelings,btw?
2. I can't figure out anything else.

If you haven't watch the movie, get the ticket & go for it! GO FOR IT! With your DAD,if possible. :)
Thanks for reading.

P/S: I'm not an expert when it comes to films. This is my review about the movie. I just wrote down what I thought about the movie.
That's all. Cheers!

Signing off.

Veerasamy (FUN) Movie Review

Came across this interesting review for VEERASAMY and thought of sharing! Have fun reading! :)

Veerasamy, The Bold God

First, congratulations for seeing the pic and staying alive to read this. If you were thinking that the snap was taken last year during the elephants’ yearly vacation in Mudumalai, you are probably viewing a thumbnail. Joom in, view full size and you will repent for calling elephants fat. There you have India’s answer to Jurassic Park : Veerasamy, a Vijaya TR film. A bunch of us representing the Chennai Cheri Bloggers Association relished the fruits of the good deeds we did during our previous birth by watching the best entertainer ever produced, beating Captain’s Sudhesi and Narasimha hands down.

*You may read the review without any fear of spoilers. I assure you that there is no story to let out*

Start the Jungle Safari . . .

The screening rights for Veerasamy were bagged by a whopping 43 theaters in the city. Unfortunately only one theater managed to acquire a floodlight to project the film, without which it was impossible to penetrate TR’s hair and get the picture on screen. Abirami mega mall is a pepped up version of Saravana Stores with 19 people appointed specifically to do a Tirupati style jarugandi jarugandi at the entrance. The theater was maintained as well as the toilet at Sathyam Cinemas with clear instructions for the visitors to spit their paan on the walls and not on the floor. Watv, lets start!

The city is troubled by Rousu Rani who is doing a gouravamaana vibachaara business. She tries to expand her business to a Special Economic Zone which happened to be Veerasamy’s area. The bad guys start bullying people. Suddenly, four people fly out of an asbestos tent. Bang. The tent door opens. There is a road roller parked there. Joom in. It’s Veerasamy in black and black to complement his kumkumapoo colour. Weapons are thrown at him but nothing happens since he has as much hair on his body to shield him from a nuclear attack. Karnanukku eppadi oru kavasa kundalamo, adhey maadhiri TR-ku mayiru (Just like Karnan has his body armor, TR has hair). This is followed by amazings stunts in which Veerasamy jumps atop cars and eliminates the bad guys. It was the first time in history that an Ambassador car sustained damage.

Veerasamy is a highly respected bear in his constituency. M.A.B.L padichirukkaaram, adhavathu andha naalu alphabets avarukku thorough-va theriyum. He is also an MLA. That mishap occured in the year Salman killed the blackbucks, which resulted in a huge sympathy wave for all animals including bears. He appears whenever people are in trouble and solves their problem by staring at them, thereby making them realise that there are bigger problems in life. When a corrupt official tells a poor guy, “Indha kaaryam nadakkanumna weight-a edhavathu kodu” [If this event is to occur, give me a 'weight' (meaning 'bribe')], bear appears with a paarangal and asks “Indha weightu podhuma?” [Is this weight enough?] The officer wonders whether Veerasamy was referring to the paarangal or himself!

Mumtaz has taken up the most challenging role in her career, which is to constantly drool at Veerasamy. In most scenes she lands up in trouble and is rescued by Veerasamy making the audience wonder whether MLA stands for Member of Legislative Assembly or Mumtaz Lovers Association. She is delighted when she gets a job as a servant at Veerasamy’s house for the only reason that she had never seen a zoo.

Veerasamy has a sister who he holds close to his heart. [Trivia: The closest anybody can get to TR's heart is a distance of 1.3 km taking into account all the masculine hair] Never in the history of Tamil cinema have TR’s parents died without giving him a girl child to take care of. *tortoise coil* One thin boy [who would have been ragged to death in school by now for playing junior Veerasamy] affectionately feeds his sister bread and porai. However, looking at their current sizes, that was probably the only scene in which she got to eat! The boy works for daily wages in a construction site and makes his sister study in a convent [confirming his knowledge of M,A,B,L]. He also talks about a billionaire Ibrahim Ravuthar who had brought him up and died subsequently due to lack of funds.

The sister, Senthamizh, falls in love with a ‘guy’, R.Arun brother of RousuRani. He looked like a person whose sex change operation was halted mid-way due to shortage of a few vital organs. He is a modern guy with something like a Navarathri golu padi screw in one of his ears. Though Veerasamy is againt their love, he fights till the end because he knows that avan azhagukkum arivukkum sathyama vera yaarum kadaikka maatanga [Nobody can find anyone with his handsomeness or intelligence].

The romance between Veerasamy and Mumtaz is elevated to new heights. Mumtaz steals Veerasamy’s Pears soap and uses it. Do bears use Pears? Anyways, Mumtaz passionately uses the soap thinking about Veerasamy and feels so proud probably because she rescued the soap. She starts hallucinating that Veerasamy is on top of her. Fortunately for her, they remained hallucinations. She lies down everyday on a poster of Veerasamy which was printed on paper manufactured by destroying half the bamboo trees in China. But for Itch Guard, she wouldn’t have been able to rest her face on his beard. She drinks the water dripping down from his beard, as a result of which she had cholera for fifteen days and the shooting was postponed. Finally, in an ultimate expression of love, she tattos his name on her chest! [Am considering quitting MBA and becoming a tattoo artist]

Songs take up 140 mins of this 150 minute film. 9 minutes have been used for TR punch dialogues and 1 minute for the story. Almost all songs have the word Veerasamy in them, be it a duet for his sister and ajakku or an oppari song for a person in his thoguthi. It is said that TR put in a lot of effort and refused to shit for two days upto the song shooting. His perfect steps are a tribute to the dance classes he attended at Slim Line Gym. He has worn everything from sherwani to suits to plain undraayer revealing lungi, but always managed to look like a jute bag containing Ponni raw rice. The songs have been picturised in grand sets which make as much sense as having a room heater in Chennai. There is a special romantic song with Mumtaz in a tub of milk. Only two packets of milk were used for it but the tub appeared full when TR and Mumtaz stepped in.

Veerasamy is faced with too many problems. He loses the elections and compares himself with MGR, Kamarajar and Sachin Tendulkar to justify the loss. Luckily for him, the first two are dead and the third one does not know Tamil. Police arrest him under ganja case and tell the Commissioner, “Ivana adichu road-la jetty-oda izhuthuttu varanum-nu nenachaen sir, aana pannala” [We should have beat him up and drag him to the road in his underwear, but we didn't.] to which a person from the crowd promptly added, “yaena avan jetty podala sir” [But he isn't wearing underwear]. Mumtaz is forcibly married off to the new MLA. Dejected, Veerasamy jumps into a rocking chair and defies the laws of physics by not toppling it. Tears drip over his beard and reach his mouth which is opened like the lid of a western closet. In all senti scenes he pointlessly looks around like Pithamagan Vikram. He blurts out, “Enna dhaan irundhaalum naanum manushan dhaaney ya” [Whatever I may be, I am still a human] for which the crowd unanimously cheered a “Illa, karadi!”

In the climax, Veerasamy fights Rousu Rani’s rowdies with an aruval and also dances simultaneously because of which his dhothi falls down to reveal his undraayar. Impressed by what they saw, Sudarmani Inc has signed TR as the brand ambassador for their latest free size jettys. Veerasamy picks up his dhothi and continues the steps he learnt in Gemini Circus during his internship. In one last romantic depiction, Veerasamy’s dhothi orasifies Mumtaz face during the fight. After succesfully nadathi vechufying [Tanglish for conducting] his thangaachi’s [younger sister] marriage, Veerasamy looks down and finds that he has been standing in his jetty aka undraayar for the past fifteen minutes. Avamaanam thaangama he sits down on his rocking chair. The chair doesn’t rock. Thamizh cinema dictionary padi, doctor kannadi kazhattinaalo, aadara chair/oonjal ninnalo aal gaali-nu artham [According to the Tamil cinema dictionary, if the doctor takes off his glasses and a rocking chair or swing is still, it means the person is dead]. Mumtaz dies too since she had been holding her breath ever since dhothi had orasified her face. The whole theater gave Veerasamy a standing ovation for his energetic body language even after death.

TR had said that he is very slim in the film. Very true. He is the second slimmest person in the film, next only to Mumtaz. The entire cast is eligible for transport only via cargo. It is thus capable of breaking the box-office itself. He has worn sleeveless shirts, track suits and tried his best to look ‘youth’, but ended up looking something rhyming. Simbhu photo appears throughout the film and beats the ‘Pulli Rajavukku AIDS varuma?’ [Can the tiger king get AIDS?] campaign for being the most effective disease awareness campaign.

TR is the producer, director, story writer, script writer, art director, music director, singer, cinematographer, clap-board handler, light boy, office boy, hero and comedian in the movie. This has ensured that all aspects of the movie were equally bad except for comedy because it was unintentional.

It is rumoured that the TV rights for the film recieved bids from international channels like National Geographic, Discovery and Animal Planet leaving Sun TV with no chance at all.

On the whole, please make sure that you watch the movie on the big screen if you want to watch the whole of TR! Smiley TR-in sevai indha naatukku thevai! [TR's service is necessary for the nation!]

P/S: Posted this while watching Veerasamy. Meant to be a fun review. I do agree that TR is talented but somehow his overconfidence overtakes his talents. What you say?

Common Sense?

An obituary printed in the London Times

“Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who

has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was,

since his birth records were long lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

- Knowing when to come in out of the rain

- Why the early bird gets the worm

- Life isn’t always fair

- and maybe it was my fault

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend

more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children,

are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but

overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy

charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate, teens

suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch, and a teacher

fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the

job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly

children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental

consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student, but could

not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have

an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses

and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a

burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to

realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in

her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, by

his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son,

Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers:

I Know My Rights

I Want It Now

Someone Else Is To Blame

I’m A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If

you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do

nothing.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

I am blogging again after some long.  Just thought of writing sometime now. 2011,has been a wonderful year for me in the sense that I personally learned a lot of things. Business, marketing, language and etc. Now,I have been watching this particular show titled WHAT WOULD YO DO in You Tube & I’m totally inspired by this program that has made me think so much more deep about HUMANITY! Seriously, what would you do if you witness racism in an upscale store? What would you do if you see a young girl in danger? What would you do if you see a grocery clerk with special needs being abused verbally? Ask yourself! WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Will you just leave them & go because it’s none of your business? Or you will lend a hand? Personally,I have encountered some situations in my life which made me to take some actions immediately.

One of it was on a fine day, when I was travelling in a public bus to work & there comes this pregnant lady with her husband. She was a foreigner, actually. For the first 2 minutes, she struggled because the bus was packed and none of the people in the bus offered her a seat. She,who was dizzy held her husband tightly & asked him to apply some kind of oil on his forehead. He who was holding her medical cards in one hand and his wife in another hand, couldn’t do it.While, when I turned and looked at the special seats provided in the bus for pregnant ladies & old folks, there were 2 African men seating and talking to each other loudly. Nobody cared. Nobody said a thing. Nobody did anything. That’s the point I knew that I need to do something & when the bus slowed down,I went directly to the 2 men & asked them to offer a seat for that pregnant lady. They did & that lady was glad.

Let me ask you something. WHAT WOULD YOU DO if that was your sister/friend/aunt/cousin? Will you still be standing there doing nothing to help her? BTW,who cares who is she or where she comes from? All I knew was,she is a pregnant lady who needs help. HUMANITY is what we need. LOVE is what we need to give & spread.

To you who is reading,if you see something or someone who needs your help,do help them. If there is injustice happening right in front of your eyes, take action! Remember,WHAT GOES AROUND,COMES AROUND. There will be time when you might need help too.

Thank you. God bless. Take care. Happy Sunday!

49 Reasons To be Vegetarian!

The Environment

  1. Conservation of Fossil fuel. It takes 78 calories of fossil fuel to produce 1 calorie of beef protein; 35 calories for 1 calorie of pork; 22 calories for 1 of poultry; but just 1 calorie of fossil fuel for 1 calorie of soybeans. By eating plant foods instead of animal foods, I help conserve our non-renewable sources of energy.
  2. Water Conservation. It takes 3 to 15 times as much water to produce animal protein as it does plant protein. As a vegetarian I contribute to water conservation.
  3. Efficient use of grains. It takes up to 16 pounds of soybeans and grains to produce 1 lb. of beef and 3 to 6 lbs. to produce 1 lb of turkey & egg. By eating grain foods directly, I make the food supply more efficient & that contributes to the environment.
  4. Soil conservation. When grains & legumes are used more efficiently, our precious topsoil is automatically made more efficient in its use. We use less agricultural resources to provide for the same number of people.
  5. Saving our forests. Tropical forests in Brazil and other tropic regions are destroyed daily, in part, to create more acreage to raise livestock. By not supporting the meat industry, I directly reduce the demand to pillage these irreplaceable treasures of nature. Since the forest land “filters” our air supply and contains botanical sources for new medicines, this destruction is irreversible.
  6. Asthetics. Decaying animal parts, whether in a freezer case or served in restaurants, can never be as asthetically pleasing to the senses as the same foods made from wholesome vegetable sources. Only habit can allow one not to perceive this: a change in diet makes this self evident.

    Personal Health

  7. No deficiencies. There is no nutrient necessary for optimal human functioning which cannot be obtained from plant food.
  8. High fat plus cholesterol. Animal foods are higher in fat than most plant foods, particularly saturated fats. Plants do not contain cholesterol.
  9. “Carb” deficient. Meat is deficient in carbohydrates, particularly the starches which are so essential to proper health.
  10. Vitamin deficient. Except for the b-complex, meat is largely deficient in vitamins.
  11. Agricultural Chemicals. Being higher on the food chain, animal foods contain far higher concentrations of agricultural chemicals than plant foods, including pesticides, herbicides, etc.
  12. Exposure to livestock drugs. There are over 20,000 different drugs, including sterols, antibiotics, growth hormones and other veterinary drugs that are given to livestock animals. These drugs are consumed when animal foods are consumed. The dangers herein, in secondary consumption of antibiotics, are well documented.
  13. Pathogenic Microorganisms. There are a host of bacteria and viruses, some quite dangerous, that are common to animals. When I eat meat, I eat the organisms in the meat. Micro-organisms are present in plant foods too, but their number and danger to human health is by no means comparable to that of those in meat.
  14. Worms and other Parasites. Ditto on # 13!
  15. Shelf life differential. Plant foods last longer than animal foods. Try this experiment: Leave out a head of lettuce and a pound of hamburger for 1 day, which will make you sick?
  16. Organoleptic Indications of Pathenogens. Plant foods give tell-tale signs of “going bad”. Ever hear of someone getting sick from “bad broccoli”?
  17. Heart Disease. Meat eating increases the risk of heart disease, this country’s #1 killer. The correlation is an epidemiological fact.
  18. Cancer prevention. Of all the natural cancer prevention substances found: vitamin C, B-17, hydroquionenes, beta carotene, NDGA, – none has been found to be animal derived. Yet most meats, when cooked, produce an array of benzenes and other carcinogenic compounds. Cancer is infinitely easier to prevent than cure. Soybeans contain protease inhibitor, a powerful anticancer compound. You won’t find it in useful quantities in animal based food.
  19. Disease Inducing. The correlation between meat consumption and a wide range of degenerative diseases is well founded and includes…..
  20. Osteoporosis
  21. Kidney Stones and Gallstones
  22. Diabetes
  23. Multiple Sclerosis
  24. Arthritis
  25. Gum disease
  26. Acne. Aggravated by animal food.
  27. Obesity. Studies confirm that vegetarians tend to be thinner than meat eaters. Obesity is considered by doctors to be a disease within itself.
  28. Intestinal Toxemia. The condition of the intestinal flora is critical to overall health. Animal products putrefy the colon.
  29. Transit time. Wholesome food travels quickly through the “G.I” tract, leaving little time to spoil and incite disease within the body.
  30. Fiber deficient. Fiber absorbs unwanted, excess fats; cleans the intestines; provides bulk and aids in peristalsis. Plant food is high in fiber content; meat, poultry and dairy products have none.
  31. Body wastes. Food from animals contain their waste, including adrenaline, uric and lactic acid, etc., Before adding ketchup, the biggest contributors to the “flavor profile” of a hamburger are the leftover blood and urine.
  32. Excess protein. The average American eats 400% of the RDA for protein. This causes excess nitrogen in the blood that creates a host of long-term health problems.
  33. Longevity. To increase ones risk of getting degenerative disease means decreasing ones chance to live a naturally long healthy life. Huzas and other peoples with large centenarian populations maintain lifestyles that are relatively meat free.
  34. Well Being. I just feel better since “giving up” meat and becoming vegetarian.

    Personal Finances

  35. Health care costs. Being healthier on a vegetarian diet means spending less on health care.
  36. Food costs. Vegetarian foods tend to cost less than meat based items.

    Ethics

  37. Love of animals. I love animals as I love myself. I have no desire to kill them or cause them harm.
  38. Stance against Factory Farming.. I cannot make a statement against factory farming if I myself eat animals.
  39. Respect for Sentient Life. I show gratitude to my Creator(s?) by eating as low on the food chain as possible.
  40. “Economic Vote”. I show support of the meat industry and the way they operate when I purchase and use their products.
  41. Small sacrifice The sacrifice I make is nothing compared to the animals, its life.
  42. Natural diet. Our hands, teeth, feet, intestinal tract…even our body chemistry is that of an herbivore.
  43. Reciprocity. If I partake in the slaughter of animals, I will have to repay my contribution to that act.
  44. “Protecting the Temple”. “Whatever affects the body has a corresponding effect on the mind and soul” (E.G. White)
  45. I believe in nonviolence. Slaughter isn’t.
  46. World Peace. There can never be peace among men while men are declaring war on other highly developed life forms.
  47. Clear conscience. I know what I’m doing is right. I feel good inside about my decision to remain “meatless”
  48. Example. To live this way is to protect the underlying values of those around me.
  49. Easy substitutes. There are vegetable based substitutes for every meat product imaginable.

Kings and Queen of Comedy Asia

Yeah, although I went  to the show on 23.10.2010,I just got time to write about it now. The show was awesome. Personally I felt, this is going to be a great start for stand up comedy events in Malaysia(So,I’m keeping the tickets safely).

Let me start with Queen Kumar! The guy who I went to the show for. He was truly gorgeous with his dress! Crappy jokes, making me laugh till I can’t laugh anymore. This guy is the one I admired the most. Such an inspiration to all! He was someone who I looked up all my life because he had taught me to live life as what I wanna it to be and not what others want the life to be.Never heard of him before? Watch these videos in YouTube! He is a drag queen & don’t judge him by his appearance! He is more than man and more than a woman! Hahaha!  Here is the link!
